Neighborhood: Embarcadero

for a bottled root beer instead.  They have a good selection of rock music playing too, and their trap door which was right by my table was a nice touch....

Neighborhood: Pacific Heights

A small but varied beer selection and great hangover food. However, loses points for being a victim of  Americaization (or maybe it's trying to be a hybrid of American and Czech cuisine). But anyways...

happens.  Seventh, uhm . . . I am running out.  At some point, a bar is just a bar.  I am knocking off one star only because the selection of locally brewed beers was lacking, so I ended up drinking...

5. Hotel Utah Saloon

Neighborhood: SOMA

selection of beers on tap. (When I saw they had Anchor Steam and Guinness I knew was set for the night).  As other have said, the beers are expensive for a dive bar, $5 per pint, but this is pretty average...

with us nicely. Great place to stop by after a walk along embarcadero or to go by to watch a game....

menu... pizza, burgers, italian food, seafood,etc but do they do it well? Eh.   Let's get real here- it's your average sports bar and grill type place, a homey neighborhood joint to watch a game...

3. Harry's Bar

Neighborhood: Pacific Heights

The salad part of the steak salad was fine however the steak was all gristle.  The only think that saved them from 1 star were the truffle fries, which were decent.  Harry's fine for watching a game...

4. Chez Maman
